SUMMARY OF THE TECHNICAL CONVENERS MEETING OF 26 OCTOBER 2016 


Present: Karsten, Toshiaki, Roman, Taikan, Matthew, Auguste, 
Marcel, Ivan, Paul, Imad, Jean-Claude, Wataru, Felix, Yan, Claude. 

POSITIONS: 
- Dimitra Tsionou has been nominated as TRACKER/TPC software contact. 
- The anti-DID taskforce BG simulation expert is still in discussion. 

INTERFACE DOCUMENTS: 
- The updated document structure by Roman and Henri Videau will 
  be distributed at the November taskforce meetings and shortly 
  presented by Roman in his introduction to the meetings. 

INPUTS TO THE 2 ILD SIMULATION MODELS: 
- The main missing input is the updated VFS geometry for new L*, 
  for which work is in progress. 
- No news could be reported for iron. 

TASK FORCES MEETINGS ON NOV. 7th (anti-DID) and 8th (VT) in Orsay: 
- The agendas were reviewed and adjusted. All speakers are 
  nominated and most of them will be physically present. 
- The meetings are opened to interested experts. 
  A vidyo connection will be provided. 

SUBDETECTOR CALIBRATION LIST OF QUESTIONS 
- The questions sent by the E.T. to the subdetectors are first aimed 
  at assessing the benefit of dedicated Z0 running for the detector 
  calibration and operation, in response to a request from the ILC 
  design team. Subdetector inputs are important to this extent, but 
  in the context of particle flow, they have to be complemented by 
  a global ILD reconstruction view to quantify the need of physics 
  events for final calibration of physics objects like hadronic jets. 
- Documents covering all technology options have been provided by the 
  Vertex, the ECAL and the HCAL, and a note is in preparation for the TPC. 
- Interim presentations will be given at the ILD phone meeting on 
  27th October for the vertex, the TPC, the Sc-ECAL and (tbc) the VFS. 
- All "final" information should be provided well ahead of LCWS16 in 
  Morioka to allow a summary to be presented in this occasion. 

NEXT VIDYO MEETING: 
- Between 24th November and 2nd December, 10:00 CET, doodle to be distributed 

SUMMARY OF SHORT TERM ACTIONS (until next meeting): 
- Nominate BG simulator for anti-DID task force 
- Distribute the updated interface documents content. 
- Task Force meetings on November 7-8 in Orsay 
- Finalise subdetector answers to calibration questions 
- Complete subdetector questions for ILD models (mainly VFS)
