Summary ---------------- The talks are avalable at http://ilcagenda.linearcollider.org/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=1786 1. See ILC_report_260707.ppt. Gerd reviewed again the properties of the new PCA for LP1. Leif had asked for details of the pin layout, seen on slide 2. Following up on Jean-Pierre's question under 1b above, Gerd showed the noise performance expected on slide 4 for the "standard" architecture. The preamp_out mode bypasses pole-zero and first shaping stages and the "no-shaper" properties follow in slides 7-10. The noise after the preamp is better understood now as seen on slide 9 (which assumes zero digital noise) showing an overall weak dependence on the feedback resistance. The preamp noise perfomance is quite good for long preamp decay (slide 10). Madhu thought thought the decay time should be about 2 mircroseconds. 2. See altro_production.ppt. The tests of the new Altro at Lund by Lennart et al gave 86% yield which gives enough left over after Star, MIPP and Alice for the LP1 (10000 channels). 3. See new_fec_open questions.ppt. Luciano answered "private" questions by Leif (not seen by most of us). 4. AOB. Some financial details about the connectors (Takeshi will talk to the Japanese company), purchase of Altros (transfer of CDC money) and extra money for LP/SP (Madhu is submitting a proposal). Finally, CERN is putting more expertise into the development of the new PASA/Altro/FEC/etc; details will follow.
