T-474: i) Mark Slater has automated his reprocessing of the January test beam data and should complete this, making processed results with positions in mm available by Mar. 13. ii) Yury reported that his group has further optimized the DDC fitting algorithm, applying additional filtering, and achieves 2 micron x resolution (hasn't looked at y with the new algorithm yet) for the alcove BPMs 3BPM1 and 3BPM2. He's only seeing ~20-micron resolution for BPMs 31,32 at the end of Aline which is similar to the beam jitter there; not sure shy resolution is so large there, but only got the electronics for that implemented late in the commissioning run. - will have Fourier xform code available for the online analysis for april run, so that can see frequency spectra in real time - will perform crosstalk measurements in processors and digitizers on March 8 iii) Zygo interferometer: - Doug said he had completed arrangements for shipping Zygo to Notre Dame, though now would prefer if it could stay at SLAC since it doesn't need to go to Oxford before august and can be used for our july run. Not sure if it actually shipped to Notre Dame or not--Doug will follow up. - Mike H. will order additional optics (interferometer heads and retroreflectors) and cables needed iv) Stew Boogert, Royal Holloway, is replacing David Miller as co-PI with Mike Hildreth v) Michele is a new Ph.D. student at DESY with Juergen and will start working on requirements and capabilities for ESA spectrometer magnets. He will come for the april run. The Dubna group may be able to contribute to the magnetic field measurements needed. vi) bpm processor parts to order: - Mini-circuits: 14 amplifiers and 14 splitter/combiners; order is placed - Pasternack: cables, connectors, adapters; need to place order - NIM chassis parts: need to place order for parts for 7 chassis 2. Linac Bpms 3BPM3-5. - ready to locate stand on the 1st SPEAR girder. Need BPMs in ESA by March 17. - Doug to follow up with Gordon Bowden on 3BPM4 mover and interfacing with the controls system. Cables are in place for this for the movers and lvdts. Doug also will follow up with Nancy on the database. A SCP control panel is in place for this. Doug is at SLAC until Mar. 29 and then away at ATF until April 22, so would like to complete checkout before Mar. 29. 3. T-480: - lid was removed from wakefield box in ESA and SLAC sandwich is ready to take to MFD - waiting for 3 sets of UK collimators to arrive at SLAC - precision assembly and vacuum group are working on additional clamping holes for sandwiches; Bruno will document in the drawings 4. T-FONT: - Ray's detailed drawing for the mask-bpm assembly has been given to the Daresbury lab. Alexander Kalinin will be discussing issues with them; he and Christine will iterate with Ray on this. There are some issues regarding overall length and flange details to resolve. - Christine is going to Oxford March 14 - April 1 to renew her visa; will work there with Tony Hartin on the ILC and ESA simulations and work on the test beam proposal. 5. DAQ/online. - Zen has finalized the format for the non-event data and the way it is served via EPICS channel access. It's different from what he had initially planned; he's working on a memo describing this. - for the 119Mz conditioning, Doug suggested he could prepare a similar circuit as has been used at ATF and may have this ready by end of the week to provide NIM-level 119MHz square wave. - need noise measurements on the two 12-bit SIS adcs - need to measure throughput with 4 SIS adcs in system; will need new PC for this - new PC delivery should be imminent 6. Beam optics - Frank has just started to use ELEGANT for A-line modeling, so can compute synch radiation thru bends and recalculate TWISS params after bends; will check how he reproduces Mark Woodley's results on this - Mike W. needs to follow up with Rick Iverson regarding the online model and with Nancy Spencer on the limited Q30 range on the quad emittance panel 7. Mechanical design and fab - last earthquaking parts arrived by March 9 - 2nd SPEAR girder: beamline is leak tight with 3WS2 and 3BPM9-11 ready - need BCS bypassed to work on water systems and to reduce flow for 3C2 - will start removing roof blocks March 6 8. Bunch length diagnostics - Doug has ordered all the parts needed for having 2 complete 100-GHz detector systems. Some parts have 30-day delivery and will likely arrive after Doug departs for ATF. He'll work with Sean, so Sean can complete this work and installation for the april run. Doug has a setup from Bob Siemann so can calibrate the diode detectors. There will be amplifiers for the two detectors with 20db gain. Amplifiers will be in alcove and don't need additional cabling run. They will need -12V power. 9. EMI tests - G. Bower has borrowed two antennas used in GLAST EMI tests: i) one is calibrated up to 50 MHz; it has active electronics, so may not want to use in ESA? ii) second one is calibrated up to 330MHz and has no active electronics, so should be able to use in ESA; Gary has also borrowed a signal generator from Yury for testing the antennas and scope. - Gary is also looking at a commercial antenna that is calibrated up to 7GHz from AH Systems that is in stock. 10. Long-term planning (LCLS era): - Mike W. will meet March 14 with LCLS gun and source laser experts to discuss issues related to achieving 2-3nC bunch charge (at 10Hz); this exceeds the LCLS 1nC bunch charge spec--also, they plan to run at more like 0.2nC - SABER workshop is March 15 and 16 Next meeting is Mar. 13 8am PST.
