Let me know if there is anything else to add... Best greetings, Ron Summary 18th WP meeting 10/1/2007 -------------------------------------------- Present: --David Attie --Ties Behnke --Paul Colas --Klaus Dehmelt --Ralf Diener --Madhu Dixit --Lea Hallermann --Michael Hausschild --Katsumasa Ikematsu --Leif Joensson --Dean Karlen --Martin Killenberg --Vincent Lepeltier --Jean-Pierre Martin --Dave Nygren --Dan Peterson --Lee Sawyer --Oliver Schaefer --Ron Settles --Akira Sugiyama --Jan Timmermans --Peter Wienemann ...anyone forgotten? Agenda and Summary: -------------------- 1. Beijing preparations -a. Beijing tracking review status The speakers and titles for the open session are due within the next few days. The TPC has 2 hours which we are planning to devide into talks by Ron, Dan, Madhu, Jan and Takeshi, so that all regions and all technologies are covered. The exact breakdown of the talks is still being debated. The written report is due 29 January. See next item. -b. Written-report status/discussion. A draft for the written report was distributed to the CB/TB members with the following plea for input from the groups: 1) Are the authors/credits ok or not? A few have answered, and Ron will be sending the latest version (the author list only) to the groups with the same plea for feedback (again). 2) Proposals for the figures on R&D results for Section 5. Place-holders for the different R&D directions are in the present draft, and the groups are requested to propose plots and say where they can be picked up. 3) Other comments on the text are welcome. Dan thinks that the 3rd paragraph of the introduction is too PRC-oriented; he was asked to make concrete suggestions per email as what should be changed/added. The same holds true for everyone: write down your suggestions in an email. Ties suggested it will be easier to do this using a pdf file, so you can convert using ps2pdf or something similar if you like. 2. Other meetings -a. Date for a meeting on the evolution in number electronic channels for LP1. As said at the last WP meeting in December, Leif would like to have a dedicated discussion amongst the experts. Email exchanges led to the proposal to have this telephone meeting next Tuesday, 16.1.2007, at the usual time. The announcement was sent today, and we will see if a critical-mass of experts will be able to attend. -b. Paul is proposing we have another TPC analysis jamboree: how/why/who/when? Contrary to what was said in the email Paul sent to all groups yesterday, I did not hear about this meeting until 15.12.2007 in an email from Stefan Roth. The offical notification to a few of us by Paul came 21.12.2007 with a call for feedback. My feedback is the following (others can make their own suggestions): -Overall organization of different TPC efforts: Paul -LCTPC/LP: Our WP#3 conveners -T2K: Someone chosen by T2K, e.g. Federico Sanchez -Panda: e.g., Bernd Ketzer from the TU Munich -NN: NN 3. AOB -a. Any LP1 news, for example? No. -b. Send in your favorite LCTPC logo!
