WP#28 at Orsay Dear TPC friends, Here is a list of possible things to discuss at Orsay. If you can't join the phone meeting, please send me your feedback by email... Greetings, Ron WP#28 02/05/2007 -------------------------------------------- Wednesday 25 April 2007 West Coast East Coast W.Europe Japan 02.00 05.00 11.00 18.00 Here is info from Vincent about venue/phone: ++ Room reservation at LAL for a TPC meeting on May 2th morning, room 129 in the main bulding. Since it is not easy to access to this part of the lab, the best is to meet at 10:30 at the main entrance to LAL, building 200, where the registration for the software meeting is. We will then go to the TPC meeting room from there. ++ The telephone meeting will start at 11:00: TEL.BAT.200, phone number +33 1 56 78 86 88 title 'ILC-TPC meeting'. Prel. Agenda -------------------- 1. LCTPC collaboration items a. Our tracking-review is finished after final comments have been sent this week. There is a lot of collaboration work to catch up on: -"Project List LP TPC, version 4" which contains several items not yet covered. -Finances and manpower situation. -Finish the formation of our LCTPC collaboration, e.g., steering-, editorial-, speaker's-committees. 2. LP issues Here is the list of issues remaining after the last meeting: -Panel sealing. -Panel shape. -Connector positions. -Drawing of field-mapping gear (Marcello Losasso). -Identify who can analyze the field-map data (CERN or DESY students being discussed). -Plan hardware and software steps needed for coordinate systems for the field-map, the PCMAG and the TPC systems. -Understand relation between TPC DAQ (Alice, Lund, Bonn) and EUDET JRA1 DAQ for the pixel telescope. -Understand relation between TPC analysis and EUDET NA2 computing/analysis framework. -Understand the trigger timing for LP1. -Plan LP1-hardware-mechanics steps up to end 2007. -Plan LP1-electronics steps up to end 2007. -Plan LCTPC-electronics steps up to end 2007. 3. LP input After last week, here is something urgent to attend to: a. Situation with the LP1 electronics (Leif). Since last week, Leif has started putting together cost scenarios and milestones for the LPTPC electronics; this is not ready for distribution yet. All numbers are being checked, but based on preliminary ones from last week, it looks like we will be needing for the 10000 preamp channels ca. 100kEuro, if the yield of Altro chips from the Star/Mips-TPC order is high enough (we should know this in a week or so because Lund has started testing Star Altros). Klaus Desch suggested that we can try to get about 20kEuro from several of the groups in order to generate the cash needed. The CDC (Japanese) and Bonn groups have each offered 20kEuro, so this is a good start. ++ Luciano's deadline for knowing how many preamp channels we want order is week 19, so at the latest we should decide at the next meeting, WP#28 on 9 May 2007. Therefore this understanding of the costs and contributions is now urgent! 4. AOB
