Summary ----------------------- 0. News -Sakue Yamada has accepted the position of Research Director for the ILC. 1. Cosmic trigger news -As reported in the summary of WP#38 04/09/2007, INR Moscow will produce our 15 paddles: the next meeting with them will be on Monday 24 Sept to discuss some details. In the meantime, Takeshi is resolving internal (lctpc) questions, and Paul is having technical meetings in Saclay. Takeshi will write a summary for us when everything is settled. For the MPPC, 15 will be delivered to Kek end Sept and 25 end Oct. 2. LP1 fieldcage/endplate/electronics news: -Dan has new items at his site: http://w4.lns.cornell.edu/~dpp/linear_collider/LargePrototype.html dated 2007-09-18: assembly drawings of Micromegasmodules-endplate-fieldcage and 3Gem+gatemodules-endplate-fieldcage. -In the 2007-09-18 drawings, the flat endplate has been designed, Dan has changed the o-ring radius, the bolt size is being changed to 5mm or 6mm (t.b.d.), a 19mm stiffening ring has been added. Dan's database has been set up to allow modifying dimensions within about an hour if changes are needed. Peter has sent the latest dimensions of the fieldcage which have to be included in Dan's next update. -The shape of the o-ring groove, which has been moved to the endaplate, was discussed: Dan showed some details dated 2007-08-21; Aleph used trapezoidal holes with small side to the outside because the o-ring had to stay in place during manipulation with the handling tool; after the meeting Oliver circulated to the lctpc list a thorough overview of o-ring technical issues based on his studies. -Leif pointed out that we have to agree in how to support the cables, possbily on the LP1-support-structure. -Some dimensions on the Micromegas and resistive anode will be settled by Paul, Madhu and Dan offline after the phonemeeting. -Martin said that Bonn is preparing a pixel+timepix module and drawings will be sent to Dan to start iterations. -Dan pointed out that the 28mm from endplate-fieldcage sealing surface to the center of the appropriate fieldcage strip is fixed and the same for Gem and Micromegas. 3. AOB -Ron gave a talk on some detector issues at the IRENG07 ("IR engineering") workshop at Slac this week. The slides are at http://mppmu.mpg.de/~settles/ireng07talk.ppt and comments are welcome. -Next phonemeeting in two weeks: 03.10.2007
