Apologies: Stephan Haensel Summary ----------------------- 0. Slides and other supporting material are at the agenda site: http://ilcagenda.linearcollider.org/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=2992 1. News. - There was no special news item presented 2. PCMAG/fieldmap. - Takeshi is in contact with his colleagues from KEK about the intervention on the magnet. Due to urgent commisioning issues for JPARC beamlines, they are not able to come to DESY before 20 Sept.'08, but hopefully shortly after that date. - No further news on fieldmap and probes as both Lucie and Christian Grefe not attending the meeting. New probes should become available mid-Sept. 3. LP endcap, fieldcage and panels - Klaus Dehmelt provided by e-mail an updated status and tentative schedule for LP1 readiness at DESY test beam. His e-mail has been added to the agenda page. It is expected that system tests with dummy modules will last until end of week 44 (2 Nov). A few further comments follow: Fieldcage: ---------- - measuring of field strips alignement on the day after the meeting - to be followed by electrical tests, gas and HV tests - TPC support structure expected next week - a set of 4 (+1 spare) small scintillator counters in preparation at NIKHEF; to be expected mid-October. Some other counters could be obtained "on loan" till then from Ingrid Gregor (and Jan T.) - Dan is available to come to DESY for few days for mounting endplate modules. He needs a week notice. Endcap: ------- - Latest information on Endplate and related items can be found on Dan's web page In particular he reported on 2008-09-09 production 6080-104 Backframes ..... 6 "3GEMG" arrived in Bonn 2008-09-08 ..... 3 "Micromegas" arrived inSaclay 2008-09-08 6080-142 Field cage termination standoffs ..... will be ordered in Aluminum and PEEK today, revised o-ring diameter 6080-127 Victoria Light insert ..... arrived today, decreased o-ring groove depth, must inspect, 6080-128 laser access cover ..... will order today, decreased o-ring groove depth 6080-140, 141 dowel pins ..... arrived today (complete), must inspect All these parts will be sent in a week. Panels: ------- - Jochen reported that backframes have arrived in Bonn, and also insulator parts arrived. Technician to do the glueing on vacation for 2 weeks. Glueing will take two weeks. Dummy modules should then arrive at DESY by week41 at the latest. - Paul Colas and team would come to DESY week of 29th Sept. bringing pad module (without resistive foil) and AFTER electronics on own gasbox that could be tested on beam. They will also make some improvements on temperature control for cosmic trigger counters electronics. Lasers and Si tracking: ---------------------- - Klaus Dehmelt sent all the necessary information needed for the laser mechanics to Alexei Lebedev - It is expected that lasers and Si tracking modules should be available before the end of the year 2008. 4. LP1 electronics. - Leif (not present at meeting) had provided earlier an updated time schedule for the Altro electronics and readout modules. It is attached to the agenda page. It looks not incompatible with the readiness schedule presented by Klaus Dehmelt. 5. Planning first (beam) tests. This planning discussion was included spread over all previous items. As a short summary of that: - Magnet cool down needs ~1 week advance notice. - weeks 45-47 first Micromegas tests on fieldcage (Paul et al) - weeks 48-50 first GEM tests (Akira et al) 6. AOB. - there will be an EVO/phone meeting on the EUDAQ data acquisition system on 18 Sept. 2008 at 10:00 CET - Next (EVO/phone) LCTPC WP meeting: Wednesday 24 Sept. 2008, usual time 16:00 CET - there will be a LCTPC 'followup' meeting after the EUDET Annual Meeting in Amsterdam on Wednesday afternoon, 8 October, starting at 14:00 CET. At 16:00 we can then have a short WP#68 meeting to inform (and get feedback from) those not present at the first part of the meeting. Jan Timmermans
