I could have a telephone talk to Tom (Peterson), and I would like to send you our (Tom and myself) common view for the cryomodule availability. Subject for discussion: - Managing cryomodule availability : warm up / cool down per which time period? Current assumption (in Tom Himel's availability study): - one thermal cycle (warm-up and cool-down) per every 5 years (in average), Our common view: - It sounds reasonable, A little more detail comment: - Cryomodule condition in short time shut down; Keep 2K condition, - Cryomodule condition for a long shut-down: Keep < 80 K condition with keep the radiation shield cooled, (it contribute to save electrical power consumption), It is better to keep the thermal shrinkage maintained. Further subjects to be studied; - estimate for MTBF and maintenance/repair interval for tuner and coupler, With my best regards, Akira On 2009/08/12, at 4:36, Marc C Ross wrote: To: Availability Task Force – We will have a webex teleconference meeting Aug 11 / Aug 12 at the nominal time.
