Minutes LCTPC WP meeting #112 on August 26th, 2010

Present:
At DESY: Klaus Dehmelt, Takeshi Matsuda,Christoph Rosemann, Jan Timmermans

EVO/phonebridge: Keisuk Fujii, Martin Killenberg, Ching Bon LAM (summer student at CERN),

1) no (General) News

2) PCMAG/LPTPC status, testbeam schedule:
- PCMAG  now at liquid N2 temperature, will be filled with liq. He before the weekend.
- SAGA modules arrive at Hamburg airport.

3) News from groups:

Asia: three collaborators will arrive next week Thursday evening; will start working on new
        modules. Other people will join later.

Dan Peterson: not much activity because busy with CESR TA run. Has bid for pre-prototype 
                      and will go ahead with that

CERN: presentation was given on the socalled BBQ event display  for a TPC (at CLIC (or ILC))
            by Ching Bon LAM, summer student at CERN ( see slides attached to the Indico agenda).
            Looks interesting, some further development probbaly needed; however it was argued that
            with currently proposed granularity of LC TPC's, even with just pads (and not pixels) 
            the graphics engines have problems to deliver sufficient performances when askingf for 
            detailed views. 

DESY:  the newly arrived Tsinghua pad board needed proper routing files for soldering the
            connectors on the pad board; this is now done.

4) WP5 discussions:
    - Leif Jonsson (absent) proposes an alternative scheme to mount electronics modules and proposes
      to discuss this in a forthcoming dedicated meeting; date to be announced
