Dear Tim and Mikael, cc: Stephane GRID directory of files for DBD studies was discussed at the ILC software common task group meeting held yesterday. In short word, the plan is to create following directory structure on ILC VO grid file catalog to store files for DBD studies. /grid/ilc/dbd/generated /grid/ilc/dbd/ild /grid/ilc/dbd/sid and /grid/ilc/dbd_log/generated /grid/ilc/dbd_log/ild /grid/ilc/dbd_log/sid See details at the http://ilcagenda.linearcollider.org/materialDisplay.py?contribId=1&materialId=slides&confId=5273 In addition, following two suggestion was made. (1) Naming convention. of generator files (stdhep files). Now, the format of a stdhep file is wNNNNNN.stdhep ( N is 5 to 6 digit number). It was suggested to include process names, CM enegy, etc, for easy understanding. One example is to follow a format now under consideration in ILD, which is described in the attached PDF file. If we apply this rule, an example of a stdhep file name would be Gp01-01.E1000-wTF.Ptth-lnqq-hnobb.eL.pR.Ip106032.stdhep where p01-01 : physsim-01-01 generator ( in the case of whizard, w01-95 for example ) 1000-wTF : CM energy + beam condition (with traveling focus ) tth-lnqq-hnobb : e+e- -> tth, tt->lnqq, h->other than bbbar eL : left handed electron eR : right handed electron p106032 : p stands for physsim, 106032 is the process ID what do you think ? (2) what meta information should be put into lcio/slcio and how ? stdhep format can store only process ID. Some other information such as cross section, beam energy, etc may be useful if stored in lcio and if the information is common between SiD and ILD, it would be further convenient. What do you think ? I'm please to know your comment on these issues and would like to discuss with you at the generator meeting in Aug. 11. http://ilcagenda.linearcollider.org/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=5266 with best regards Akiya Miyamoto
