LCTPC WP meeting #134 on 1 September 2011 ========================================= Present: (at DESY) Ralf Diener, Leif Jonsson, Martin Ljunggren, Volker Prahl, Jan Timmermans, Klaus Zenker (on phone) David Attie, Gilles De Lentdecker Apologies: Ron Settles 1) (general) News: a reminder for the submission of short abstracts for the TRK/VTX session at LCWS11 in Granada: deadline 9 September 2) News from testbeam area: upgrading the lifting stage and preparing a temporary support for the LP 3) News from the groups: - short statement by Jan on analysis by summerstudent Eric Drechsler of Octopuce data taken at LP last December: analysis done within MarlinTPC framework, using processors developed in Bonn for single-Ingrid; not yet fully understood inefficiencies at all Ingrid borders, due to drift field distortions (outer borders qualitatively understood, but not inner borders); drift velocities measured in agreement with expectation; still some problems with track finding and fits (solved just after the meeting after most recent bug corrections by Bonn) - Ralf is looking at data taken with the DESY 3-GEM module in July; might present results at Granada meeting - Leif reported on first results from the S-Altro-16 tests, that he received by e-mail from Massimiliano De Gaspari: Brief update on the characterization of the S-Altro16: So far, the measurements look more or less as expected. The power consumption of the PASA is 10mW/channel. The sampling frequencies used are 10-20MHz, the readout frequency is 40MHz. We have measured gain, linearity and crosstalk for a couple of channels. We also have noise measurements for different input capacitances. On the DSP side, we have acquisitions showing agreement with expectations. Now I'm working to make measurements on more channels and on the power pulsing tests. At the end of the month, we should be able to run acquisitions with sampling frequency of 40MHZ (this depends on the RCU). News received after the meeting: they plan to continue measurements until end of September and will then report on them later. - David Attie: contract with Rui De Oliveira (CERN) for the production of 9 bulk Micromegas modules, starting in September with 2 modules/month, ready early 2012; production all mezzanine cards started, will receive them mid-October; still some mods needed in FECs, hope to send to factory by end October. Test bench will be set up at CERN (T2K test bench). New master student will arrive end September (supervisor Maxim Titov). David or Paul will report during next meeting on their test with neutron beam(s) in China in July. 4) No other WP5 news in addition to what was reported by Leif (see above) 5) no AOB Next meeting: 15 September 2011 14:00 CET Meeting after next: 6 October 2011 14:00 CET (we skip by one more week, because of LCWS11) J.T. 2/9/2011
