Science Application International Corporation Visit (SAIC)
Low Level Analog in AdvancedTCA
John Walrod of the SAIC Advanced Systems Division, along with Brian Dealy and Maurice Sabado from SAIC will give a presentation on their products and experiences with ATCA and analog signal processing. They will also discuss various ATCA systems that are both analog and digital
Maurice Sabado (Technical Fellow and the VP of Technology for Advanced Information Technology Center) is responsible for work in networks, data storage & management, content-based routing, etc. As the VP of Technology for the Advanced Concepts business unit, he is also responsible for SAIC work in accelerators, high-energy physics, and related areas.
According to a phone conversation with John SAIC has had “good success with low-noise ATCA data acquisition systems mixing analog and digital functions.” They have delivered 10 systems and have 20 more in the pipeline.
Since the ILC project requires fault-tolerant, networked, precision data acquisition, the SAIC presentation should prove to be very interesting.
Time: 1:30 – 2:30 PM, Tuesday June 13th
SLAC will meet in Controls Conference Room, Bldg 34
Discussion to follow.
