The 184th SiD Optimization Meeting

America/Los_Angeles
Dan Protopopescu
Description

Join via https://stanford.zoom.us/j/867873981, or see the email announcement(s) for more details on how to join this meeting remotely.

Attending: Aidan, Amanda, Chris, Dan, Dave, Jason, Jim, Marty.

Apologies: Andy (at CALICE collaboration meeting in Montreal)

Minutes:

  • Marty - update from SLAC meeting (two weeks ago) - DoE, DoD, etc. pushing Japan really hard to commit to the ILC.  Jim: Federation of Diet Members in Japan (~¼ house) is pushing for some action this year, e.g. funding to move this forward. Even if commitment would happen within the next 2-3 years, money would only be available in 6 years or so. There are plans to start work on a new framework to replace LCC, effort which would be hosted or led by KEK.
  • Chris talked about production of a new DBD sample on the UOregon hepilc cluster (56 cores). Previous production was done before DD4hep f/w was available. This (re)production is done with SiD_o2_v03, at sqrt(s) = 250GeV. Will decide where to post (online) a list of the samples produced, for the moment accessible only on the UOregon cluster.
  • The American LC community is planning to organise a workshop at SLAC on June 22-25, to be announced in a few days.

Next meeting: March 18, 2020 (Jim might not be available)
