Description

Bi-weekly meeting of the SiD Detector Optimization group. To join this meeting please click here.

Attending: Chris D., Chris P., Dan, Frank, Jan, Jim, Marty, Thomas (Apologies: Andy)

Minutes:

  • Thomas presented the structure of Key4hep - a low-maintenance common s/w stack for HEP; consensus to develop it was reached at the 2019 Bologna FCSW; DD4hep, iLCSoft part of this; Marlin replaced with Gaudi (wrapper/conversion scripts provided). Links to detailed documentation provided in the talk slides. Frank offered historical context/motivation for Key4hep.
  • Jim gave a brief report on work done by him, Chris P., and students on pi0 reconstruction from the standard SiD simulation of PFOs; looking for improved performance with MAPs versus the TDR ECal. Frank mentioned that there are two algorithms that might be of interest for Jim's studies: GammaGammaCandidateFinder (https://github.com/iLCSoft/MarlinReco/tree/master/Analysis/GammaGammaCandidateFinder) and RecoMCTruthLink https://github.com/iLCSoft/MarlinReco/tree/master/Analysis/RecoMCTruthLink

Next meeting: April 27, 2022
