Chris Adolphsen’s slides “Overview of Main Linac Beam Dynamics areas that need to be better examined and better documented”, which was to be presented at SLAC BD meeting, are shown and discussed.
The suggested works are divided into four:
(1) Quad Package Design, (2) Static Tuning, (3) Installation and Operation, and (4) Wakefield/Cavity Topics
Our group will not be primarily responsible for (1) and (4), however we should study their effects to beam dynamics.
There are a lot of activities for (2) and (3) (especially in Europe). We will ask people’s interest or institutes’ interest first, then organize works avoiding unnecessary overlapping.
One question is: Are these works organized as workpackages under ML group?
In general, we need to discuss with area groups (ML, BDS, RTML) how to organize.
On the task list of “information for simulations”
Assignment of some contact persons was confirmed.
We will organize another meeting to clarify the tasks and the role of the contact persons.
“LET Beam Dynamics Manpower List” sent to Area leaders was introduced.
Face to face meeting (LET meeting) in this year (probably in November or December) was discussed.
N. Solyak will consider possibility of FNAL or SLAC hosting the meeting.
Future meeting schedule:
To avoid overlapping with other meetings, next meeting will start 14:00 GMT, not 13:00 GMT.
Tuesday seems OK for everyone.
