Minutes:

  • Jim - quick summary of LCWS19: >400 participants (more than ever in US or Canada workshops); excellent technical program; large number of industry exhibitions (27 booths), ILC-related industrial contributions demonstrating interest in ILC. Researchers had plenty of opportunities to mingle with industry and politicians. Lyn publicised new document stating the support of the scientific community for the ILC. US State Dept. and CERN representatives made strong statements of support. The Science Council of Japan is working on a masterplan to be delivered in January 2020. An earlier statement to be sent to the EU strategy board could happen.
  • Chris - impressions from LCWS19: sensing a change of mood, more positive outlook for ILC. Two talks given, which were well received, with useful questions/feedback. Slides (attached) providing list of interesting talks and discussions.
