Minutes of Top/HF Meeting 29/1/21

Attendees: F. Zarnecki, A. Irles, Y. Okugawa, F. Simon, H. Yamamoto, J.P.  Marquez-Hernandes

  • Seidai (no presentatin since preparation of Master Thesis): ILD Note in progress, presentation at sw/ana Meeting and at LCWS
  • Roman: Deficits in ee->tt in continuum
  • Tilt in angular spectrum for vtx-vtx method, low energetic b?
    • Requires revision of vertex recovery and development of calibration methods
  • Drop in acceptance in polar angle spectrum of KK method (see also next talks)
  • Can one produce samples w/o single-top background?
  • Question is how to present observations to "outside world" at e.g. LCWS?
  • Yuichi: Kaon reconstruction in ee->bb
    • Slide 5: Many entries in # of Kaons = 0?
    • Serious drop in polar angle spectrum (efficiency) when using dE/dx as stored in DST. "Traditional" method was to accept/reject generated Kaon based on study with reconstructed files (cheating or at least semi-cheating)
    • Adrian and Yuichi will check efficiency with newer samples
    • Suggest to show always dE/dx vs. costheta along with dE/dx vs. p
  • Adrian: DQ checks with new samples
    • K/p separation looks reasonable after bug fix in McTruth link.
    • However, still puzzling results when using reconstructed particle (all fine for tracks), bug or feature?
    • No (bad) surprises in DQ checks
    • May want to exclude lowest energetic photons from ISR plots
    • DQ checks are candidate for talk in one of the upcoming ILD sw/ana meetings
  • Frank/Filip:
  • Possibility of new studies at threshold or concerning mass are about to be exhausted
  • Potential candidates are ...
    • ... analysis of reconstructed events at different energies at threshold
    • ... experimental study of ee->tt\gamma
    • It is rather time to wrap-up the current knowledge
  • Potential LCWS contributions
    • tt continuum, open experimental issues (R.P., to be seen whether it can be properly presented)
    • Update on ee->bb paper (Adrian)
    • top mass by Kacper
    • Kaon reconstruction by Yuichi and Adrian
    • Nature of several talks may call for combined sessions
There are minutes attached to this event. Show them.
    • 14:00 14:05
