Atttendees: Karsten, Tom, Yasuhiro, R.P.
- Provided endorsement by IDT-EB, Tomoki will replace Yasuhiro as IDT WG3 convener
o ... hoping that Yasuhiro will stay on board (depends on KEK division leader)
- The next major goal for MDI will be a corresponding session at the LCWS at SLAC. Potential topics
o We will follow up the MDI studies ongoing for C3
o Magnetic coil: Al stabilsed conductors impossible to get. Discussion on alternatives
o Overview on on-site developments (e.g. transportation, on-side coil winding)
o Porlarimetry at EiC
o Summary of CFS baseline report (as "consequence" of recent supplementary funding approved by Japanese Cabinet)
--> we have to follow all this also up in our conveners meetings
- We have to get (back) in touch with Brett Parker on the QD0 studies and whether or not there us a chance that the "fresh money" from Japan can
be beneficial for this effort
- In general we have to understand whether this fresh money could be used now and if not in the coming years for MDI studies. We should set out the goal to define
a set concrete studies until (latest) LCWS.
- Addendum R.P.: Today Jenny directed me to paper on using machine learning techniques to measure beam parameters based on data of the SuperKEKB LABM
https://arxiv.org/pdf/2206.11709.pdf. I must say that I have to understand better what the LABM is actually measuring but in general the feedback system is worth
a fresh look. My understanding in the aftermath of the series of meetings from last year is that there has been little to no communication between those who developped all these beam
calorimeters and the machine. The worry is that these detectors are too slow. Anyway, something to observe with room for new ideas (I think).
