Discussion topics today:
- LC and FCC-ee are complemental
- How to collaborate with China - CEPC and ILC are competing?
- LEP3@CERN is not preferred since it vetoed all other Higgs factories: try to avoid LEP3 by
- either supporting FCCee or
- try to get LC
- Baryonic flavor physics cannot be done with SuperKEKB (except significant upgrade on BT and FF)
- Spin correlation, CP
- Even LC statistics should help BSM search
- (but upgrading SuperKEKB is lot cheaper)
- Important that ILC is quicker
- ESG is too political, we can have more neutral view
- Anyhow strengthening LC physics is important
- LC technology (for high energy) should be kept even if FCC realized
- LC is better on secondary beam/beam dump
- There may be interest from Belle2 members for flavor physics@FCC: contribution is good for now
- Low energy demonstrator of ERL: brainstorming in December
Next steps
- Try to clarify our view (referring ESG but clarify the point we should take and not take, with missing points) towards LC
- Chen-san will try to present initial view at the next meeting
- Review various LC scenario to start to think which we should take as the strategy
Next meeting
- End Oct - Begin Nov. hopefully before LCWS
