Getting to Cambridge

By Air

Stansted Airport: The closest of the London Airports is Stansted. Budget airlines (e.g. Easyjet, Ryanair, GermanWings, Air Berlin) operate services from a large number of European destinations. To get the best fares you are advised to book early. Buses (see link below) run approximately hourly to Cambridge, taking about 45 minutes (very dependent upon traffic). From the bus station it is about a 2 minute walk to Emmanuel College. Alternatively, there is an hourly train service from Stansted to Cambridge. From the station it is a 25 minute walk to Emmanuel College or a short taxi ride. 

Luton Airport: a number of budget airlines also fly to Luton. There is a bus (see link below) from the airport to Cambridge which takes approximately 1.5 hours.

Heathrow and Gatwick Airpots:  Heathrow and Gatwick airports are both served by approximately hourly buses to Cambridge http://www.nationalexpress.com/airport/. The scheduled journey time is about 2.5 hours from Heathrow and 3 hours from Gatwick. Alternatively, from Heathrow you can take the underground (Picardilly Line) to Kings Cross and then a train to Cambridge (total journey time approx 2.5 hours); from Gatwick take the Gatwick express to central London, the underground (Victoria Line) to Kings Cross and then the train to Cambridge (total journey time 2.5 hours).

By Train

Train times can be found from http://www.nationalrail.co.uk , it is about a 25 minute walk to Emmanuel College, but  only a short taxi ride.

By Car
