Frank Stulle (CERN) reported “Status of the CLIC Main Beam RTML”.
He introduced functions and schematic layout of CLIC RTML. He discussed how CLIC and ILC can profit each other, in studies of RTML.
He also showed longitudinal and horizontal phase space distributions in the turn-around, which is a large issue of CLIC.
Javier Resta Lopez (JAI, Oxford University) reported “Updated studies on luminosity performance applying different jitter sources and IP-FB correction for ILC and CLIC”
He showed how the tolerance of beam orbit jitter (at the entrance of BDS) reduces due to the collimator wakefields, in both ILC and CLIC.
He also showed luminosities with IP-FeedBack assuming different ground motion models and random quadrupole position jitters.
The feedback is being tested in ATF extraction line at KEK.
Dou Wang (IHEP) reported “Coupler Wakefield and RF Kicks in ILC Bunch Compressor with SLEPT”
She has modified the code SLEPT for including coupler wakes. Vertical emittance in RF sections of BC1 and BC2 were simulated with coupler wakes and coupler RF kicks. Result with RF kicks is consistent with the past results (by A. Latina), but effect of coupler wakes are a little larger.
Andrea Latina (FNAL) reported “Single Stage Bunch Compressor studies”
He showed optimization of the single stage bunch compressor, making the final bunch length and energy spread as desired. It is a modification of existing design by P. Tenenbaum.
Then he showed simulation results of transverse emittance growth due to component misalignment with corrections (1-to-1, DFS and dispersion bumps). Minimal vertical emittance growth is 3.37 nm for the standard set of misalignment (1.6 nm comes from BPM resolution, 1 microm) and optimum correction parameters.
He also showed effects of coupler RF kicks and coupler wakes, comparing the single stage BC and 2-stage BC. A correction method using crab cavities was also tested.
