The International Linear Collider (ILC) could be the next large-scale high-energy physics machine. The ILC will complement and extend the rich new physics landscape which the LHC has just begun to explore, giving further insights into the origin and evolution of the Universe.

It has long been recognised that the realisation of facilities on this scale  demands  unprecedented global cooperation. Since its inception in 2005 by the International Committee for Future Accelerators (ICFA), the Global Design Effort has coordinated a rich worldwide R&D programme on the technologies required for the ILC, in particular the 1.3-Gigahertz niobium superconducting radio-frequency technology currently being deployed for the European X-Ray Free-Electron Laser (European XFEL) at DESY, Hamburg, Germany. The GDE is itself unique, formed as a truly international network of research teams across some 130 national labs, institutes and universities. In 2013, the GDE will complete its mandate by publishing the ILC Technical Design Report (TDR).  The GDE together with the international high-energy physics community will celebrate this impressive achievement by holding a global event on 12 June 2013.

Involvement of industrial partners has been a key theme of the GDE’s programme over the last five years. Many of you already have long-standing contact with the GDE Programme Managers as we have developed and promoted the ILC technologies across the globe. We would like to reflect both the established partnerships and potential future ones by inviting you to participate in this global event by sponsoring the European Event at CERN. Sponsorship is fixed at 2000 CHF, for which we will immediately include you on the list of sponsors with your logo on the official event website and official communications. In addition you may choose one of the following:
  1. Exhibition booth space (1.5m×2.5m) at CERN in the “Pas perdus” area at the nerve centre of CERN for the entire week of the event. Since event space is limited, these booths will be allotted on a first come, first served basis.
  2. Sponsorship of the reception, where your company name and logo will be visibly displayed at the reception area.
  3. Sponsorship of the concert, given by the internationally acclaimed musicians Jack Liebeck (violin), Jamie Walton (cello) and Katya Apekisheva (piano);where your company name and logo will be displayed before the concert and during the intermission.
Any surplus sponsorship money after the event will be used to sponsor student travel for ILC-related events.

Naturally we would hope that you will attend the event itself in person, and celebrate with us our achievement. In doing so together in this global event we will show support for a possible Japanese-hosted machine, constructed as an international project, which is currently under active consideration by the Japanese authorities.
