Description

For the success of the International Linear Collider (ILC), it is crucial for the project to be accepted and integrated within the local communities. This requires close cooperation between the ILC Laboratory and the surrounding municipalities to develop "next-generation city planning initiatives triggered by the ILC" that bring extensive and diverse value to the region. Furthermore, it is important to demonstrate how these initiatives, spurred by the attraction of the ILC, can contribute to addressing social challenges faced by the Tohoku region, Japan and global society as a whole.
The ILC Vanguard Initiative Next Generation City Development Working Group aims to develop a "model case for ILC city development." This will help constituent municipalities understand the concept of "ILC city development," identify suitable approaches for their respective areas, and translate these concepts into concrete actions.
In today's presentation, I will report on our activities and plans to date.
