Code of Conduct

Preface
The International Workshop on Future Linear Colliders 2026 (LCWS2026), which is held on KEK, continues the established series devoted to the study of the physics, detectors, and accelerator technologies for high-energy electron–positron colliders. Through the hosting of LCWS2026, we will engage in cutting-edge research and human resource development under an international cooperative framework. In addition, while preserving the foundational technologies that underpin our research, we will continue to strive to meet demanding performance requirements. To achieve these goals, it is essential to foster a constructive workplace environment where people from diverse backgrounds—regardless of gender, nationality, or other factors—respect one another and can exchange opinions frankly. It is also important to actively disseminate the insights gained through our research activities and to foster broad public understanding of and cooperation with basic science. To this end, all of us participating in LCWS2026 will act in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations, KEK’s Code of Conduct*1, and the guidelines set forth below.

Intellectual integrity
We approach our research earnestly and with intellectual integrity. We carefully handle information obtained from research activities, including experimental or computational results, as well as byproducts. When presenting research results, we explicitly distinguish between our own achievements and those of others.
Ethical Research Activities
We uphold high ethical standards in all research activities and strictly prohibit misconduct such as fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism. Research data is appropriately collected, recorded, and stored, and managed in a manner that allows for verification by third parties. We appropriately disclose any conflicts of interest to ensure fairness and transparency. We will comply with relevant laws and ethical guidelines, fulfill our accountability, and conduct research activities that earn the trust of society.
Fostering the Next Generation
We are committed to fostering the future of our research community and nurturing the younger generation.
In order to enable young researchers to thrive in their research, we strive to establish environments that are aligned with modern standards and comfortable for them to work. When educating students, our goal is to cultivate individuals with high research capabilities and strong research ethics.
We humbly engage with young people, learning ourselves through promoting the next generation, and perpetuate our knowledge and skills across generations.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
We recognize and respect that diversity, equity, and inclusion are important universal values for human beings.
We acknowledge and embrace individual differences and interact with others with respect. By leveraging our imagination and considering diverse perspectives, our goal is to maintain professional relationships that are free from discrimination and harassment, regardless of attributes such as gender, nationality, etc.
Workshop participants are expected to abstain from all forms of harassment, abuse, intimidation, bullying, and mistreatment of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, intimidation, sexual or crude jokes or comments, offensive images, and unwelcome physical conduct. Violations may result in expulsion from the meeting, at the discretion of the meeting chair.
Safety
We always consider safety of utmost priority in our actions.
We devote ourselves to protecting human life and health, striving to create an environment where research can be conducted safely. We recognize the need for continuous effort to maintain a safe research environment and heightened awareness. Therefore, we continually strive for improvement, fostering a culture where we each protect and value safety.

序文
KEKで開催される「将来の線形衝突型加速器に関する国際ワークショップ2026（LCWS2026）」は、高エネルギー電子・陽電子衝突型加速器に関する物理学、検出器、および加速器技術の研究に焦点を当てた、定例シリーズの一環として開催されます。このLCWS2026開催において、国際的な協力体制のもと、最先端の研究と人材育成に取り組みます。さらに、研究の基盤となる基礎技術を維持しつつ、厳しい性能要件を満たすべく不断の努力を続けてまいります。これらの目標を達成するためには、性別や国籍、その他の要因にかかわらず、多様な背景を持つ人々が互いを尊重し、率直に意見を交換できる建設的な職場環境を醸成することが不可欠です。また、研究活動を通じて得られた知見を積極的に発信し、基礎科学に対する社会の理解と協力を広めることも重要です。このため、LCWS2026に参加する私たちは全員、関連する法令、KEKの行動規範*2、および以下に定めるガイドラインに従って行動します。

知的誠実さ
私たちは、研究に真摯に取り組み、知的誠実さを重んじます。実験や計算による結果、および副産物を含む、研究活動を通じて得られた情報を慎重に取り扱います。研究成果を発表する際には、自らの成果と他者の成果を明確に区別します。
倫理的な研究活動
すべての研究活動において高い倫理観を持ち、捏造・改ざん・盗用などの不正行為を厳格に排除します。研究データは適切に取得・記録・保存し、第三者による検証が可能な形で管理します。利益相反の有無を適切に開示し、公正性と透明性を確保します。関係法令や倫理指針を遵守するとともに、説明責任を果たし、社会から信頼される研究活動を実践します。
次世代育成
私たちは、私たちの研究コミュニティの将来を重視し、若い世代の育成に力を注ぎます。
若手研究者が研究において成長できるように、時代に即した、彼らが安心して活躍できるような環境の整備を進めます。教育に携わる場合には、高い研究能力と研究倫理を持つ人材の育成に努めます。
私たちは、若い人たちと謙虚に向きあい、次世代の育成を通じて自らも学びながら成長を続け、世代を超えて知見や技術を引き継いでいきます。
多様性、公平性、包摂性
私たちは、多様性、公平性、包摂性を、人間にとって重要な普遍的価値であると認識し、尊重します。
私たちは、個人の違いを認め、受け入れるとともに、互いを尊重して接します。想像力を働かせ、多様な視点を考慮することで、性別や国籍などの属性にかかわらず、差別やハラスメントのない専門的な関係を維持することを目指します。

私たちは、人命と健康の保護に全力を尽くし、研究が安全に行える環境づくりに努めます。安全な研究環境を維持するためには継続的な取り組みと高い意識が必要であることを認識しています。そのため、私たちは絶えず改善に努め、一人ひとりが安全を守り、大切にする文化を育んでいきます。
