The limousine shuttle bus from Tsukuba to Haneda (Tokyo) Airport is frequently delayed due to traffic congestion, so we would not recommend it if you're in a hurry.
Shuttle bus managed by LOC
Shuttle buses will operate between the nearest stations (Tsukuba St. and Kenkyu-Gakuen St.) and KEK in the morning and evening.

Transit IC card
It is convenient to purchase a rechargeable transit IC card such as Suica or PASMO. These cards can be purchased at ticket counters and ticket vending machines at railway stations. You can load money onto the card in advance and simply tap it when making a payment. They can also often be used for purchases in taxis, convenience stores, and many other locations.
If you use an iPhone, you can add a digital Suica or PASMO card to Apple Wallet and use it for trains, buses, and purchases at many stores in Japan.
If you use the public bus to come to KEK (only from Tsukuba station):
- Take a ticket from machine when you get on the bus. (If you board at the first stop of the route, it may not be necessary.)
- The fare is shown on the screen at the front of the bus. Your fare is displayed next to the number on the ticket you took when you got on the bus.
- Get off at "Kouenerugi kasokuki kenkyu kikou" which will be announced in Japanese.
- Pay the fare into the fare box next to the driver when you get off the bus.
If you use taxi to come to KEK: LOC can book taxi if necessary.
