Transportation to McGill University from YUL airport
Flights to Montréal land at the Pierre-Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) in Dorval, one of the many suburbs of Montréal.
There are three main ways to get to the University from the airport.
1. Taxi:
For a fixed rate of $41 CAD (Dec. 2019) a taxi service will take you from the airport to downtown Montréal. The pickup location is on the arrivals level of the airport. It is customary to give the driver ~15% tip. For further details please click here.
2. Uber:
The Uber car-sharing service is also available in Montréal using the mobile app. A typical rate from the airport to the Downtown campus is approximately $35. Please note that the pick up location for Uber is not the same location as for the taxis, it is on the departures level, one floor above arrivals (Door 6). 3. Public Transit:
The last, most cost effective but slower option is the #747 bus of the Société des Transports de Montréal (STM). This bus travels directly from the airport to the Metro station Lionel-Groulx at a fare of 10$. This ticket can be purchased inside the airport using a debit/credit card, or on the bus using exact change. From there one would use their ticket to transfer onto the Green line of the Metro, direction Honoré-Beaugrand.
