Description
Flavor-changing Higgs decays are highly suppressed in the Standard Model and provide an important probe of new physics. In particular, the $H \to bs$ decay is a rare flavor changing decay, and the search for this decay provides an important probe of the flavor structure of the Higgs boson. In this study, we investigate the feasibility of searching for the $H \to bs$ decay using simulation data based on the International Large Detector (ILD) concept for the International Linear Collider (ILC). The analysis focuses on the $e^+e^- \to ZH$ process at a center-of-mass energy of 250 GeV, using the $Z \to \ell^+\ell^-$ decay channel.
To effectively separate the $H \to bs$ signal from other Higgs decay backgrounds, we investigate event-selection criteria based on kinematic and flavor-tagging information. In this contribution, the $H \to bs$ search in the $Z \to \ell^+\ell^-$ channel, based on a preliminary event selection using the ILD detector concept, will be presented.
