Oral presentation (onsite or remote - not decided) Higgs and Electroweak Higgs and Electroweak

Speaker

Julie Munch Torndal (DESY)

Description

The Higgs self-coupling measurement is an absolute must-have for establishing the Higgs mechanism experimentally. The Higgs self-coupling can be accessed at tree level through double Higgs production. In $e^+e^-$ collisions at 550 GeV, the dominant production mode is double Higgs strahlung with the ZHH final state, where the analysis projects a discovery reach on the Higgs self-coupling. A small but complementary contribution from vector boson fusion of the W-boson (WBF) to the vvHH final state ensures the discovery reach across a wide range of BSM scenarios. In this contribution, extracting the WW-fusion contribution from the ZHH production will be laid out, discussing the separation of WBF and ZHH from generator level to reconstruction level, as well as the interpretation of the two components contributing to a common signal.
