Description
Strong-field quantum electrodynamics (QED) offers a unique window into fundamental physics at extreme electromagnetic fields, where higher-order effects may eventually lead to a breakdown of the perturbative description of QED. The recently launched NP-QED project aims to approach this regime by combining relativistic electron beams with ultra-intense laser pulses, intensified by Doppler-boosted plasma mirrors. Future linear collider facilities, providing electron and positron beams with energies extending into the TeV regime, could substantially extend the accessible strong-field parameter space. A particular focus is placed on combining plasma-mirror-boosted laser pulses with the 190 GeV electron beam of the LCF380 scenario. We discuss the strong-field regime accessible with such a setup and its potential for approaching the fully non-perturbative regime of QED.
