Description

The PSI Positron Production (P3, or P-cubed) experiment is a demonstrator of a positron source and capture system developed within the FCC-ee injector study. Installed at the SwissFEL facility of the Paul Scherrer Institute, the experiment aims to significantly increase the positron yield compared with the current state-of-the-art. The facility combines a conventional pair-production target with an advanced capture system based on high-temperature superconducting solenoids and large-aperture RF cavities to maximize positron collection efficiency. Following the successful installation of the experimental setup, this presentation reports the first e⁺ beam measurements, representing an important milestone for the P-cubed experiment and for the development of high-intensity positron sources for future electron-positron colliders.
