Description
Many BSM models predict the existence of additional Higgs-like scalars and the future Higgs factories are best suited for searching them being produced in association with a Z boson. Assuming a small coupling to the Z boson, such scalars are still not excluded by current experimental and theoretical constraints, and different approaches have been considered when studing prospects of their discovery.
The most model-independent one is based on the kinematic constraints of the production process and looking at the recoil of the new
particle against the Z, since this is independent of the decay
modes of the new scalar. Based on this method, searches were performed for a wide range of the scalar masses and for different future linear collider running scenarios. The results presented in this contribution take the ILD detector concept for detector-level simulations and event reconstruction, and include running scenarios at 250 GeV and 550 GeV center-of-mass energies. Geant4 simulated background samples were used in the study, while for signal samples the SGV fast simulation, adapted to the ILD, was used for detector simulation and high-level reconstruction.
