Description

Plasma wakefield acceleration offers a pathway to compact linacs, but stringent angular tolerances and transverse instabilities pose significant challenges. This paper presents a combined approach of active drive beam guiding and stage betatron length matching to mitigate these effects. Using analytical modelling and PIC simulations based on the HALHF baseline parameters, a reduction of the multi-shot normalised emittance by 3--4 orders of magnitude compared to when no corrections are applied, is shown.
