Description
As a part of research for the manufacturing methods for SRF cavities used in ILC(International Linear Collider), collaborative research is conducted in the framework of the ITN(ILC Technology Network) which includes the Korea University and KEK. Following our previous study on 1.3 GHz single-cell niobium cavities, we have extended our manufacturing scope to full-scale 1.3 GHz 9-cell cavity for ILC in collaboration between the Korea University and KAT. To validate the tooling, jigs and baseline manufacturing procedures, 1.3 GHz 9-cell cavity has been initially fabricated by using copper material. Room-temperature RF measurements and bead-pull test have been conducted, confirming precise field-flatness tuning and assembly accuracy. Building on these results, we are currently manufacturing the 1.3 GHz 9-cell cavity with niobium material. The cavity fabrication in Korea is scheduled for completion by June 2027, followed by surface treatment and vertical test at KEK in Japan. We present the VT results of 1.3 GHz single-cell cavities, the fabrication results of copper prototype cavity, and the progress of the niobium 1.3 GHz 9-cell cavity fabrication.
