Description
Stable generation of a nanobeam is a crucial challenge for the realization of the International Linear Collider, and its demonstration is currently underway at the KEK Accelerator Test Facility. Since the beam is strongly focused at the ATF2 virtual IP, the beam size at the final focusing magnet become large, and it is expected to be significantly affected by nonlinear fields of the magnet. Therefore, the precise modeling of fringe fields of the magnets on the beamline is considered as one of the important factor to improve the gap between simulations and real machines for the ATF2 beamline.
We evaluated the effect of fringe fields on nanobeam at the ATF2 beamline using RF-Track, which is a particle tracking code and can directly use 3D field map data as a definition of the lattice, in order to incorporate realistic magnetic fields into tracking simulations. We will report the resulting fringe field effects on the nanometer scale beams.
