Description
RadiaBeam Technologies recently commissioned a compact Inverse Compton Scattering (ICS) facility based on 100 MeV linac. The ICS source employs a hybrid photoinjector achieving sub-picosecond bunch compression within a very compact footprint. The high brightness beam is injected into a pair of high gradient C-band linac modules to achieve ICS photon flux output tunable in the range of 30 – 180 keV. We will present the ICS source architecture and commissioning milestones, along with the development and implementation of the high-power versatile C-band RF infrastructure, directly relevant to the broader needs of the collider developers.
In parallel, RadiaBeam has undertaken superconducting radiofrequency (SRF) cavity development efforts targeting next-generation accelerator applications. Recent work includes a scaled spoke cavity design and early-stage manufacturing, with a strategic focus on re-establishing domestic industrial SRF fabrication capabilities in the United States. The common collaborative threads connecting these seemingly disparate endeavors will also be discussed as path toward successful industrial engagement.
