Description
The Silicon-Tungsten Electromagnetic Calorimeter (SiW-ECAL), is one of the key sub-detector for the ILD Detector Concept and is being investigated as a component of future fixed target experiments looking for Dark Photons (EBES, LUXE, SHiP, Lohengrin).
After many iterations and tests, an ultimate version of the front-end boards based on SKIROC2 ASICs from the Omega lab, and a new assembly procedures have been devised.
In June 2026, after a meticulous preparation, an almost uniform prototype of the SiW-ECAL with 15 layers was built and tested at the CERN SPS. While the data is still being analysed, early results suggest good noise and high-energy electrons performances.
These early results and perspectives for experiments will be presented.
