Fukuoka is the forth largest metropolitan region in Japan, having 2.5 million people, following Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya region. Fukuoka city is located about 1000 km west of Tokyo, the biggest city on Kyushu island. Fukuoka is especially famous as a gourmet city, with dishes based on fresh seafood, chicken, tonkotsu-ramen, and so on.
