Description

The 2025 International Workshop on Future Linear Colliders (LCWS2025) continues the series devoted to studying the physics, detectors, and accelerator issues relating to high-energy linear electron-positron colliders.

The LCWS2025 workshop will happen near the end of the third European Strategy for Particle Physics Update process which aims to "to develop a visionary and concrete plan that greatly advances knowledge in fundamental physics (sic.)" . A linear electron-positron collider project will offer the opportunity for a timely, cost-effective and staged construction of a new collider that will be able to comprehensively map the Higgs boson’s properties, including the Higgs field potential, thanks to a large span in centre-of-mass energies and polarised beams.  It will also contribute to searching for new physics beyond the Standard Model with direct and indirect searches complementary to the HL-LHC.

With a wide program of plenary and parallel sessions, this workshop will provide an opportunity to present ongoing work and to get informed and involved in worldwide efforts devoted to lepton linear collider developments.

The workshop is scheduled from the afternoon of the 20th of October to the afternoon of the 24th of October, at Valencia (Spain) in two locations in the city's heart. Monday morning and Friday afternoon are available for satellite meetings or events related to the workshop.

In-person attendance at the workshop is strongly encouraged.

SoftwareTutorial:

  • 🧑‍💻 ECR Software Tutorial
A dedicated tutorial organized by early-career researchers will open for registration on 18th July. A Key4hep pipeline tutorial.
  • This hands-on session, taking place in person on the morning of 20th October, is an excellent opportunity for early-career physicists to strengthen their technical skills and actively engage with the linear collider community. The tutorial will provide practical experience with the Key4hep pipeline, covering the full simulation chain for linear collider studies — from event generation to detector simulation and reconstruction. The tutorial is primarily designed for on-site attendees, where direct interaction and support will be most effective.

Proceedings:

  • Proceedings will be arranged with The European Physical Journal - Plus
  • More info to come soon

The 25th edition of the International Linear Collider Workshop (LCWS-2025) is organized in Valencia (Spain). The local committee comprises members of IFIC (UV/CSIC) and the Spanish Network for Future Colliders. The conference takes place from October 20th to 24th 2025 in the heart of Valencia's city center

Local organizers - The AITANA group of the IFIC

The Insituto de Física Corpuscular, IFIC, is a joint center of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, CSIC, and the Universitat de València, UVEG. The IFIC is dedicated to research in nuclear, particle and astroparticle phsyics and their applications to medical physics and other fields in science and technology.

The AITANA – matter & technology group from IFIC is a multidiscipline team that encompasses experimental particle physics and accelerator physics researchers.
